A medical background is not required to become a doula. Individuals with all levels of experience are welcome. Access to all materials will be provided after registration.
End-of-Life Doula Training Workshop (~1 hour)
- Read the Lifespan Doulas Standards of Practice and Code of Conduct for EOL Doulas.
- Complete a short personal reflection exercise.
- Watch an online video.
Your instructors, Merilynne Rush and Patty Brennan, are adult education specialists with decades of teaching experience. The interactive classroom experience includes a blend of discussion, partner and small group exercises, lecture, PowerPoint presentation, videos, role plays, case studies, brainstorming, personal reflection, and more. Class size typically averages 18-24 participants. The Center has a cozy livingroom-style teaching space with couches and chairs, floor cushions, bolsters and exercise balls. We are an informal crowd and recommend you come dressed for comfort.
